How is the wind in Gdansk in August & September?

What speed in knots?

My wife is from Gdansk and will be visiting there mid August for 3 weeks. I may come and join her too, and we may stay until the 2nd week of september...

How is the wind in the Gdansk/Sopot area? What speed in knots/hour?
Are there any lessons provided? (in English too please) If not, I'd just find a safe spot on my own and practice out of everyone's way.

Thank you!

Hello!

I don't know exacly how many knots there will be but the weather should be ok :] We have many schools in Poland and I think there will be no problem with english (pozdro dla ludziów ze szkółek kite ;)), anyway you shouldn't have any problem with practise. You see many people what to learn and some spots may be crowded but it won't disturb you, trust me :] So come here and have fun. That's all.

Greetings
Tom

For weather info you should check out the stats on windfinder... here's the link for Gdansk/Sopot:

The best place to learn how to kitesurf however is on the opposite side of the bay. Plenty of campsites with fully equipped kite schools (IKO certified and english speaking.) Ask your wife to take you to Chałupy, she'll know where it is - it's Poland's wind/kitesurfing mecca - also known for it's nudist beach

You should really make the effort of coming down - despite the temperatures, this really is one of Europe's best kept wind/kitesurfing secrets.
