Kitecomrades is a web based kiter community that enables you to link kitespots all over the world with a local kiters and find out what they are up to. not so much about the conditions, as about the riders and their kitelife. our goal is the possibility for everybody to know a local kiter wherever he goes (read more of our attitude at http://www.kitecomrades.com/manifesto/ )

please visit http://www.kitecomrades.com , feel free to join and spread the word. sorry for the spamy approach

my polish is miserable  anyways - the initial idea is a mix of couchsurfing.com, facebook.com and twitter.com for kiters. kitebeaches.com is totally impersonal - you never know who has added the information about the beaches. you have to agree that a 25 year old wakestyler sees a kitespot with different eyes than a 45 year old waverider. with kitecomrades every session log and every beach is linked to a real person you can contact for further information before you leave for the location.

+ it`s a very easy platform to use for people that want to blog their kitelife. just try how easy it is to make a report on a kiting location with wind direction, strength, session focus (freestyle, wave etc), photos and videos!

for instance - i come from Latvia and would like to check out some wavespots in Poland (i know you have some). i look for people from Poland that have indicated waveriding as their preferred style. OR i look at spots on map and seek the ones that have the most "wave" in session rewind focus. AND if somebody in the vicinity of the wavespot happens to have a free couch for a couple of days - i have a free stay too. and this ofcourse works in both directions

To be honest with you...
I think the idea is bloody good, but it will never work at polish community.
Guess why ;-)

i know. i come from a country with a very difficult history with communism too. perhaps even more difficult than yours. BUT if you look at comrades before the soviets spoiled the whole concept, it`s all about sharing the resources (wind, waves, beaches, couch in our case) and helping each other out without requesting a reward. we knew about the possible repulsion when we chose the name, but we hoped for open minds..
